Ruble deals account for 34% of Russia’s imports from Iran
MOSCOW, Feb 7 (PRIME) -- The share of ruble deals in Russia’s imports from Iran reached 34% in July–September 2018 and the share in exports amounted to 14%, the Russian Energy Ministry said in a statement on Thursday.
“According to the latest calculations for the third quarter of 2018, the euro and the ruble account for the majority of settlements for goods imported from Iran – for 65% and 34%, respectively, while the share of the U.S. dollar settlements is only 0.26%. Export contracts in the U.S. dollars account for 54%, while the euro and ruble deals account for 31% and 14%, respectively,” the statement read.
Russia and Iran are working on raising bilateral settlements in the national currencies, the ministry said.
